Day 3 - Paris: Musee de l'Armee ~ Musee Rodin ~ Musee d'Orsay ~ Musee de l'Orangerie

There are two men I my life that I love: Van Gogh and Monet. These French impressionists have caught and retained my attention and have never been challenged by modern stiles, guaranteeing that they and French Impressionism will always remain at the center of my heart. So you can imagine how I felt today when we went to the Musee d'Orsay and Musee l'Orangerie. I got to see the artists' creations face to face. No pixels or blurry faces that ruin the paintings. There were real paint strokes. I about died when I went to the Van Gogh exhibit. His paint strokes were incredible, each one molding together to create something to be in awe over. I have computer printed paintings of his that hang on my bedroom wall but they cannot capture his brilliance. His self portrait had me captivated for a good ten minutes, until my mom moved me along so we would be able to see the rest of the museum. And then there was Monet and his water lilies. Only he could take something as simple as water and flowers and create a masterpiece. The blues and greens together really cast an effect that I wish everyone will one day get a chance to experience.
